Webcam on laptop?

I have an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC and dont know how to access my webcam on it... any suggestions

Hi there

I also have a HP Pavilion laptop with built in webcam.

There's a few ways to access it.

To test or setup your webcam as suggested by hp, you can find QuickPlay in your start menu .. or either this:

Click Start, select Run, and type this in...

C:\Program Files\Hp\QuickPlay\QP.exe

There's where Vista normally installs quickplay app at.

Once it loads, click on the icon that looks like a film reel/music bar/camera logo, once it's done loading, under the Source heading, look for HP Webcam, double click on that and you should see the blue lite turn on and see yourself on cam!

Other ways is thru an Instant Messengers like MSN or Yahoo. Check their helps on how do set it up.

Hope this helps!

I have the same problem with my Toshiba..

I've had it ages and can't get it to work despite the hardware being installed and the cam staring at me :(

Re-installation?

Click on your start menu and click on search. Type in "webcam" and it should come up with something. If you will take and copy the shortcut to your desktop you will be able to find it much easier the next time!

there should be a program to just open the webcam its called, HP webcam, if you have windows vista you can open your menu and type it in.. it should pop up

Ok. I think I know the problem. You must have windows vista. you need to go online and download the software for Windows vista for your webcam.. I did the same.

i have the same thing and i can only work it on yahoo messenger. maybe it will work on that for you too
