Do you think this is a good idea (buy a macbook)?

My computer in my bonus room currently SUCKS, so I am thinking of getting rid of it and buying a black macbook. I am a 14 yr old, but my mom will also use the mac too. I will use this for music, videos, internet, projects, and research.

How well does the Macbook preform?

The mac book is great!!! Infact I'm using it to answer your question. It is good for school too. Using it's built in camera you can make all the videos you want and built in Itunes is nice for music. Safari ( The internet ) is easy to use. Also it is very easy to navigate your way through your computer. It's one of the most user friendly laptops out there I say go for it!

i am not too familiar with how the Macbook works but I do know that if you want to buy prgrams and download stuff you have to download different versions for mac cause its different from Windows. Just buy an HP. They are also good.

Whatever you do DON'T buy a computer with a VIsta program

Save the $200 for the extra black, get a white one and put that money into a superdrive or larger hard drive. The MacBook works great, you get all the software you need on it to do video, photos, music etc. It comes with iPhoto, iMovie, iDvd, Safari, Photobooth, iCal, a Mail program, iTunes, and more. It has a built in webcam and is wifi ready. You'll probably want to add a Word compatible word processor. The free one on the Mac will open Word files but is very basic. Add iWorks 08 (will open Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.) or splurge and get Mac Office. And remember 115,000 fewer viruses to worry about.

If the computer is going to be sitting in a room, and not being moved about, do not buy a laptop. Desktops are a lot cheaper compared to laptops.

get a mac, the good thing in mac is when you used it on the internet, no trojan, no virus or what ever, download anything, as far as i know there are no virus for mac at the moment, so its cool, and fun to used too...
