Notebook computer?

If I never use the battery, should I remove the battery from the notebook computer? Would it hurt if I never use it and left it?

The battery on your laptop was designed to be charged/discharged through its usable life. If you store it BEFORE your first use, which means before ever putting it to charge then you can store it indefinitely. If it has been charged and you remove and store it it will degrade slowly until it will never accept a charge. It is also bad to have it charging all the time, they tend to create what we call memory. This is, it will only charge to a particular level, never to full capacity. The best thing is to use it, letting it discharge to almost no power at least once a month.

you could be wearing away your battery life. If you honestly never use it, go ahead and remove it

the charging circuitry in your laptop will prevent the battery from over charging if thats what you are worried about.

Using the battery on ocassion is a good idea. Charge it, and let it drain completely.
