Can you use your dvd rom from laptop in desktop? |
Can you use your dvd rom from laptop in my desktop? What cable can i use? Nope, not directly. Maybe with a cable of some sort, but not plug & play by all means. No, this is not possible for the architecture of the Laptop's case and design of the components differs from that of the desktops. In other words, it would not be possible becuase the DVD drive in the Laptop is designed to be slimmer becuase it needs to be able to fit in a slim, more portable case of a Laptop Computer. As for the Desktop computer, there are bigger drive bays which, basically, require a bigger; different-sized Optical Drive to fill the drive bay and connect properly You mean a DVD Drive from a laptop in a desktop. Then Answer is no, you wouldn't be able to since the DVD Drives in Laptops do not have IDE or PATA connections or any power connections. So no you can't. this site will give you a sony vaio laptop just for completing some quick online tasks! really recommend it, especially if you're broke but really want/need a laptop (like me). |
