i press shut down or restart and it just stay on the shutting down screen. i have reset the laptop back to factory settings. i have done nothing to it yet, not even microsoft updates and it is still not shutting down. it takes ages until it reboots to the options menu of restarting in safe mode or normal windows etc. seeing as it's been reset back to factory, what the heck is wrong with it please? there is no virus. i've use norton 2008, mcafee totoal protection, avg and one care. there is no virus. plus i have reset to factory so there is nothing I have a Dell 1501 too. I never have any problems with it shutting down but it often freezes with a really strange screen- like blue verticle stripes or just plain white. I just take the battery off and put it back on. take out the battery. Virus possibly. I've got a 1501 and it's fine. Some options that i can suggest are: There is possibilty of virus in your pc.. First scan your pc with antivirus you have installed in your pc, if u don't have one you can always goto the link: http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/defau... Go to your control panel and type in power options in the search bar ,then select change what the power buttons do and see what they say.Hope this helps ya. Good luck |
