I am not able to view Google earth. Is it because I do not have right Directx version and where do I get that.

Check the google earth->help.

You can see your Direct X information by clicking on Start -> Run, and typing dxdiag <enter>

You can get it through Windows Update.

also remember to take into account your internet speed. Broadband is recommended or else you will be streaming forever.
