Why does google have the right to record the front of my home on google maps? Isn't it an invasion of privacy?

if you put an address in google maps you can get a street view and it is as if you are walking down your street it is very ridiculous In earlier years they had aerial views but this is too close for comfort...any thoughts?

I agree.

I see it as an invasion of privacy but if the pictures were taken from the street , i.e from public property then there is little you can do about it. There was no trespass.

I can only suggest you bombard your Senator with your objections and ask him to take it up officially. We have similar problems in the UK. It might be a long wait before it is resolved.

4 some reason it doesn't know where my house is, it shows up as the wrong one. so i dont kave that problem

So what? I can see my house too. It's not that other people can see that you're living there? Right?

The satellite picture and someone walking down the street is the same, those are "public" domains. you cannot tell any one that walks past you home that they cannotlook at your house. there is no invasion of privacy and cannot be considered that no matter how liberal that you read the law.

Anyone walking down the street could see it. Anyone driving by could stop and take a picture. Anyone who took the picture could post it on the internet.

All google did was put it in a format where someone who's bored can take a look.

As long as you or your kids aren't in the photos, why is it a problem? They could already google-map you and see exactly *where* your home is, so it's not like it makes you less safe.
