Sketchup help! selecting only far away objects!?

ok so i have been using google sketchup for probably about a year and i would say i am intermediate to advanced skill level... anyway lately i have been laying out a floor plan for my design studio and i have used different components... for some reason i cannot open or select the component when i am zoomed in... i literally have to see almost the entire site to select it... and its not just components... the what i like to call snaps wont work zoomed in either... you know the highlighted little box that tells you when your connected to a line and if your at the midpoint and stuff... so its making it quite difficult to work on! please help

This is a problem with the program. Try updating to the latest version (pro is 6.4.112) and it should fix that problem
