Does Yahoo! own Google or vice versa?

I've been so confused on this debate for the longest time. Several people swear up and down the two are owned together while others say they are seperate and another person says that they merged their search engines but that's it. I don't know. Any thoughts?

They're both completely separate. Search is separate, companies are wholly owned by themselves.

They are separate. Microsoft is working on acquiring Yahoo!, though, I believe.

I dont' think so. Yahoo owns Flickr now though. If Google owned Yahoo, there probably wouldn't be 2 separate email servers. They would just merge them together.

Google is born out of yahoo......... It was yahoo which gave space and supported Google in the initial stages.

But now ..... Google became a demigod in the world of Internet.

Yahoo and Google are now different search engines

Microsoft gave a fat offer to acquire Yahoo....... but nothing has worked.

Google & Yahoo is different.
Microsoft wants to buy yahoo & offered 44.7 billion dollars
This is the policy of gates if Microsoft & yahoo merge then it will easy to dump google.
