I registered one of my websites with google and it doesnt bring up my index page at the top of the list, why?

When i checked through the keywords, it didnt have the keywords i had listed in the head section.
Also, the description i listed in the head section doesnt show up either.
why is it doing this?

ugh, no that is not what i am talking about. i know it wont go to the top of the search. what i meant is why doesnt it show my index page at the top instead of other pages from the site. it shows pages from the site and then below them it shows the index page. and why does it not go by my keywords in the meta tag in the head section. read the entire question before answering, geesh!

you mean to say showing top in the search engine page results??? if so...... it shall take time... because there will thousands of sites who target the same keywords.

Your chances of being Search Result one are very low....unless you have a kick-A** product that blows up over night. I agree with the person before me also, in that by choosing the right key words and laying it out properly you will achieve a higher placement on the list.
