Do college people(when applying) search your name on google to see if you've posted obnoxious comments?

I heard someone say it, so i was just wondering

It's possible. It depends on how selective the school/program is as well as if you want scholarships, etc.

One of my friends just lost an amazing job offer because SOMEONE ELSE posted compromising pictures of him.
So...it's possible
