Does Google Adsense pay money whenever someone views a video on Youtube video units?

Whenever someone views a video, does google pay you?

NO -- You don't get paid when someone views the video.

You only get paid IF someone clicks on the ads embedded at the top of the video. Unless the campaign running is CPM, and then you can earn for every 1,000 times the video is viewed.

I tried it and have 1 running on my site. I consider it more as additional content, not as income generating source because hardly anyone clicks on it. I made very little money with video ad units
