Does Google offer a service like this?

Seeing As How Google Is The Web "Giant" These Days I Was Just Wondering Cuz I Haven't Seen Anything Like This By Google Yet.

You probably haven't seen it because their project was ended quite some time ago (December 2006).

It started in August 2002, long before Yahoo! Answers, which started in December 2005.

However, it was very different from Y! Answers in the sense that askers posted "bounties" for the best answer to their question. This means that an asker would post a question and a price for how much he was willing to pay for your research into the topic. The best answerer, as chosen by the asker, was given the money upon the question being closed.

Furthermore, the answerers to questions were called Researchers, and were required to complete applications to participate on the site.

It was closed on December 1st, 2006 due to "restraints on community size" and the wish for Google to focus it's efforts in helping people find information elsewhere.

Google did an answer service, that was actually a pay-for service, and then answered by 'experts'.

They discontinued the service. That's all I know.

Are you talking about Y!Answers? I think all they have is Google Groups. But here's a good site for their main services:

I have to agree with what i've been hearing that while Google is THE search engine, yahoo is improved as a whole becoming a web portal with everything you want from news, email, ect all on one page.

(compared to google and google mail ect on different sites and mutliple pages between them)
