Im trying to disable google safesearch but it wont go off?

When i go to Preferences, and click the box that says "Don't filter my search results". I save it, go back to the search page, refresh it, and it still says "SafeSearch is ON".
Other changes I make in the google preferences work properly.
I have enabled all cookies and tried changing my internet options but it still gives the same problem.
How on earth do I get this thing to stop filtering my results???

1.Visit the Google Preferences page. (*http://www.google.com/preferences)
2.Select 'Do not filter my search results.'
3.Click Save Preferences.
