Facebook and myspace- what's your view on social networkin websites?

I deleted my myspace after I thought that it was interfering with my life. Now, facebook is becoming addicting. Should I ditch them both completely? It might make life more simple.. but then again.. I don't know. Please help.

Just limit yourself. That's what I do, leave a time for yourself to use it like half an hour a day not more. You can always catch up with the updates tomorrow. Facebook will always be there for you.

Don't ditch it, it's a great way to keep you up to date about events and in touch with your friends.

I got rid of my facebook, it's a distraction from reality, I talked to people I'd never met, it wasted my time and one day I realised it served no purpose at all and was simply a psuedo statement about how many more people i knew than the next person.

It's an addictive social obsession and the focus is reaching out to people, it promotes people who are attention seeking to get more attention, it makes isolated people realise how alone they really are and for everyone else it's a big competition and at the face of it all, all you ever do is write to eachother so other people see you and you get noticed , when you click a facebook link you rarely read the content of it or learn about the many interests of a person.

My rant. I'd also like to add you cannot get rid of a facebook page, they do not delete you from their database, they enbcourage addiction, lol. They tease you with "if you ever log on again we'll remake your page for you".

I do admit that those sites can be addicting so I gave them up for lent. The positive is you have a lot more time on your hands, the negative it takes away from communicating with people you don't see that much. sadly my new addiction is yahoo answers...
If you can't give them up completely I suggest limiting your time on them so it doesn't consume your life.

It makes me realize than I am nozy, I look on peoples page and I don't say anything to them or comment on their stuff. I makes me feel like I am just being nosy. Just looking at their stuff and then move on to the next. lol B/c I am and isolater lol.
