I have a laptop, but my mom gave me a great desktop... How can I use the laptop screen and run programs off?

I want it all linked together somehow.
And about what would it cost?
I hace a centrino mobile processor on my laptop, but I'm not using a woreless router currently.
Also, the new desktop has wireless capabilities.

I use a -KVM switch from D-LINK DKVM-2KU they also make them for 4 computers.Make sure you get the one that has USB 2 and the PS connectors.
I'M running 2 computers with only one monitor.

I am not 100 percent on the details, but look into a program called Synergy. It should allow you to use one mouse and keyboard to control both computers. I think it will work out pretty well for you.
