Same specs but different price. Performance? |
When I try building a Dell on their online website, I found that building an Inspiron 530, an XPS 210, and an XPS 420 with roughly the same specs does not end up with the same price. NOTE: Never mind, the XPS 420 was cheaper because it didn't include a monitor. However, the question still applies. When I go to Dells site i see both the 210 and 420 starting at 999 except the 210 has a monitor. The 210 has a 2.13 Core 2 Duo and 2GBs of ram as stock while the 420 has a 2.4 quad and 3GBs of ram. Main thing thou, is that the 210 is a slim-line meaning its only going to take a low-profile video card when it comes time to put a video card in. They don't make the big cards in low-profile. You can see that the $1999 420 has an 8800GT while the baddest card they offer with the 210 is the ATI 2400 which is offered in low-profile configurations.. If you want a Dell then the only one I would suggest out of those 3 choices would be the 420. |
