Question about wireless devices?

I disabled my wireless device (WLAN) on my desktop by accident. I know nothing about computers, but followed directions and was able to enable the device.

Immediately after doing so, my internet connection came up and I am enjoying lightening-fast internet connection---something I haven't had in weeks.

Is this a common occurrence when you disable then enable WLAN?

I don't think people understand the question. You are wondering why you suddenly have better-than-ever speed, right?

Who set up your wireless the first time? My guess is that you've had a glitch for a while, and your re-enabling solved the problem. Kind of a hidden bonus for accidentally disabling it.

I'm a computer idiot, too, but I have found that a simple thing like disconnecting everything, waiting several minutes, then reconnecting can do wonders for my speed. Every time I have done it, I have wondered what took me so long to think of it. I think we become accustomed to small changes over time that slow down our systems, like slowly deteriorating health that we don't notice until the problem is resolved. Enjoy your lightening-speed connection, and when it gets bogged down, do what you did again and see if it's not better.

yeah, thats like saying i turned off my car and it didnt go anywhere, is that normal?

yes, disabling your wireless card is like turning off the lights..very common. Hope this helps.
