How can I change my computers name in Vista? |
Ok we got a new laptop, at first it was going to be my hubbys but he decided he like the old one better. so now I am stuck with a laptop that has my name as "BOB" and I want to change it all to say "LUCY" I know for XP you just right click on "my computer" and click properties. you can also go to system properties in the control panel. In there you can change the name of the computer in one of the tabs. I don't see why XP would be any different. Just click start then click on the picture on the top right. Go to Start>>Control panel(or controls)>>system reformat is the best way.. However. you might be able to get away with just creating a new account and after that's done. Remove his account from the computer. Actually its like this. Click control panel, then system, scroll down and click the change settings button next to your current pc name. On the computer name tab, click the change button. Wala thats it! I am using windows vista as my os., so trust what I am going to tell you. |
