Win Update disabled burner and recognizing CD?

I turned off security, went from Win Media (said wasn't formatted, even when CD was) and RealPlayer doesn't recognize my burner. I'm thinking I should do a system restore prior to the update download. Any suggestions. I just burned a CD prior to the update with no problems, on Win Media.

What update did you install, and for what OS? Sounds like a crappy Release Candidate Windows Service Pack..A system restore would do the trick on XP, if you are using Vista, you can merely uninstall the Update.

Vista:
Start>Control Panel>System>Windows Update>View Installed Updates.
From there, find the one recently installed (search by date installed) and uninstall it.
